Mid-Stream Admission
The College of Humanities and Sciences (CHS) offers a limited number of places for students enrolled into the CHS who wish to be considered for transfer to some of our Majors and Cross-Disciplinary Programmes via the mid-stream admission pathway.
Here is the information on the programmes offering mid-stream admission, the eligibility criteria and how to apply for mid-stream admission.
Mid-Stream Admission for Cross-Disciplinary Programmes
Mid-stream admission is open to CHS enrolled undergraduate students who are keen to pursue the Environmental Studies (BES) cross-disciplinary programme. Students must have a good overall GPA (Grade Point Average) as well as passion and involvement in environment-related causes to be considered for admission. The Environmental Studies programme committee may conduct interviews to assess applicants for suitability for the programme.
Interested CHS students should submit their application here (refer to the section Current Undergraduates in NUS/Yale-NUS/NTU/SMU/SUTD/SUSS/SIT (all citizenships)) via the NUS Office of Admissions (OAM) when the application window for transfer opens in February and October each year, for transfer to BES in Semester 1 and 2 respectively.

Mid-stream admission is open to CHS enrolled undergraduate students who are keen to pursue the Data Science and Economics (DSE) cross-disciplinary programme and are reading/have read MA2001, MA2002 and CS1010S (or any of its variants). Only students who have obtained very good results for these courses will be considered for mid-stream admission. Other criteria such as overall GPA (Grade Point Average), high school results etc may be taken into consideration. The Data Science and Economics programme committee may also conduct interviews to assess applicants for suitability for the programme.

Students who have excelled in the College of Humanities and Sciences common curriculum and the gateway courses of the three constituting disciplines (Philosophy, Politics and Economics) may apply to transfer into the programme after their first year of study. Other criteria for the mid-stream application may include a GPA requirement or any other conditions to be imposed by the PPE Joint Programme Committee, for instance, an interview. More details about the criteria and procedure will be announced later.

* Note that existing students from the PPE major (from Cohorts 2018, 2019, 2020) will not have the option to transfer to PPE-XDP. And CHS students (from Cohorts 2021 onwards) will not be able to access the old PPE major programme.
Mid-Stream Admission for Other Programmes
Food Science and Technology
Mid-stream admission is open to CHS enrolled undergraduate students who are keen to pursue the Food Science and Technology (FST) Major and are reading/have read FST1101B (offered in Semester 2 of the academic year). Only students who have obtained very good results for this course will be considered for mid-stream admission. Other criteria such as overall GPA (Grade Point Average), high school results etc may be taken into consideration.

Pharmaceutical Science
Mid-stream admission is open to CHS enrolled undergraduate students who are keen to pursue the Pharmaceutical Science Major. Here are the application criteria:
