Communities and Engagement

This focuses on a plurality of communities that act as sources of gravity, pulling students out of their immediate identities and self-interested pursuits to cultivate an orientation towards (and responsibility for) broader social issues. Topics to be discussed in this pillar may include climate change and environmental degradation, the lived realities of disadvantaged or discriminated groups, challenges in caring for the elderly, labour market opportunities for ex-felons, access to healthcare, food sustainability, and so forth.
