A Conversation on Continuing Education and Training (CET) and Lifelong Learning at NUS
October 21, 2021
NUS Vice Provost (Masters’ Programmes & Lifelong Education) and Dean of the School of Continuing & Lifelong Education (SCALE) Prof Susanna LEONG says students and employees alike must learn to capitalise on opportunities as the world continues to evolve at a rapid pace.
“Dealing with extreme uncertainty and change is becoming a way of life. The COVID-19 pandemic shows us just how quickly our world can change. To survive and to continue to thrive, we need to respond to changes with agility. At the same time, we should also recognise that where are risks, there are opportunities,” she says.
With data, technological advancements and smart machines acting as key drivers of change, Prof Leong notes that NUS is working hard to prepare learners for the challenges that lie ahead.
She says, “We emphasise multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary education, so our learners can thrive and deliver greater value in an increasingly complex and uncertain world.”
