Timothy YEE, a Year 3 student, is reading a double degree in Life Sciences and Psychology, with a Minor in Japanese Studies. He shares insights on planning his workload.
He says, “Read the module requirements to get a sense of whether any weeks will have much higher workloads due to deadlines from different modules happening at the same time. This ensures that any sudden spike in workload can be reduced, such as during recess week and Week 13.”
He also advocates selecting modules for a good balance of harder and easier modules. Above all, “Try not to procrastinate and complete all assignments as soon as possible to avoid rushing close to deadlines.”
Timothy views life sciences and psychology as highly complementary disciplines. For example, he is more aware of how statistical techniques from psychology can be applied in life sciences research.
This has opened his eyes to the possibility of taking a PhD that can integrate both majors..
