Ever wondered where your degree will lead you?

Your education at the College of Humanities and Sciences (CHS) will open the door to multiple career pathways in different sectors, from professional and discipline-based careers to entrepreneurship. The options are plentiful and diverse!

Here, we meet Life Sciences alumna Eunice TEO, who has carved out a career in the biomedical industry in Singapore, a fast-growing sector that is also a key pillar of the nation’s economy.

Eunice puts her expertise in the life sciences to good use at Auristone Pte Ltd., an Asia-based epigenomic profiling company working on technology platforms for the development of biomarkers that provide information on the tumour microenvironment related to the mechanism of action of immunotherapy.

Her exposure to entrepreneurial education at NUS was the pathway to nurture the spirit of inquiry. She says, “Throughout the years, curiosity has always gotten the better of me.”  Her participation in iLead (renamed NOC Singapore) enabled her to intern at a local startup. A stint at Stanford University also gave her valuable exposure to the dynamic entrepreneurial culture in Silicon Valley.

The idea of bringing business ideas and principles to the table was a “thought-provoking concept” concept for Eunice – providing a different dimension to her field of study in science.

She adds, “I never knew business (coupled with science) would be so enjoyable, and I could see how it can be applied in many forms and ways.”
