Professor Sun Yeneng

Prof Sun is Xu Foundation Dean and Professor, and Professor of Mathematics and Economics at NUS. Upon receiving his PhD in Mathematics from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, United States in 1989, he joined NUS as a faculty member at the Department of Mathematics. Prof Sun headed the Department of Economics from 2008 to 2012 and the Risk Management Institute from 2018 to 2020. He was a recipient of the Outstanding University Researcher Award (1998) and the National Science Award (2000). He is also an Economic Theory Fellow of the Society for the Advancement of Economic Theory and a Fellow of the Singapore National Academy of Science. He is currently the Dean of NUS’ Faculty of Science and has helmed this role since 1 July 2020.

Professor Sow Chorng Haur

Prof Sow obtained his BSc and MSc in Physics from NUS and his PhD from the University of Chicago, United States. He was a postdoctoral fellow at Bell Laboratories, Lucent Technologies before joining NUS' Department of Physics in 2001. His research interests include carbon nanotubes and graphene, and studies of nanostructured functional materials and their unique physical properties. He has authored and co-authored many papers in the field of nanoscience and nanomaterials. He is a recipient of multiple university- and faculty-level teaching excellence awards. Prof Sow is currently Vice Dean (Outreach and Admissions) at the Faculty of Science.

Associate Professor Chng Shu-Sin

Assoc Prof Chng received his BSc (Hons) from NUS and PhD in Chemistry and Chemical Biology from Harvard University, United States. His research focuses on elucidating the mechanisms of inter-membrane lipid trafficking in Gram-negative bacteria and mycobacteria, and in identifying novel protein targets in these bacteria for the development of new antibiotics. For his work, he received the Faculty of Science Young Scientist Award (2018). He is also the recipient of the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (ASBMB) Walter Shaw Young Investigator Award in Lipid Research (2019). He is a passionate educator and has won multiple university- and faculty-level awards, including the NUS Annual Teaching Excellence Award and the Honour Roll. He is currently Vice Dean for Student Life and Alumni Relations at the Faculty of Science.

Associate Professor Adrian Lee

Assoc Prof Lee received his BSc (Hons) MA and PhD in Chemistry from the University of Cambridge, United Kingdom. He did his postdoctoral studies at the University of Cambridge and he was the Singapore Millennium Foundation Fellow (2002 to 2004). His research interests at this time were atmospheric science and computational chemistry. More recently, his focus has moved to education - here, his interests are wide-ranging, including technology-enhanced learning, especially blended learning, interdisciplinary education and student living-learning experiences. From 2015 to 2021, he was the Deputy Director of the Centre for Development of Teaching and Learning (CDTL), where he was responsible for academic development. In this work, Assoc Prof Lee embraced a collegial culture within which to build programmes that further a conversation that becomes part of an academic’s scholarly reflective teaching practice. He has won numerous teaching awards, including the Outstanding Educator Award (2017). He is currently an Associate Professor at the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science.

Associate Professor Peter Todd

Assoc Prof Todd is an experimental marine ecologist who focuses on urban marine systems. He works on increasing understanding of the ecology and functioning of tropical coastal marine organisms and communities under environmental stress. His research is multidisciplinary, synthesising elements of biology, geography and engineering to answer ecological questions. He has published over 150 peer-reviewed papers on coastal systems. He is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences, Faculty of Science, where he runs the Experimental Marine Ecology Laboratory. He is concurrently Director of the Bachelor of Environmental Studies programme.

Associate Professor Stella Tan

Assoc Prof Tan has postgraduate academic qualifications in law, forensic science and science. She was previously Deputy Senior State Counsel, Attorney-General’s Chambers and Director (Prosecution and Legal Policy) at the Health Sciences Authority, where she provided legal advice and practical training to forensic experts. She has co-authored papers on stem cell research, therapeutic cloning and germline modification for the National Bioethics Advisory Committee. She has received consecutive Dean’s Meritorious Teaching Awards. She is currently Associate Provost (Student Conduct) at the Office of the Provost, NUS, Assistant Dean (Undergraduate Studies), Faculty of Science and Director of NUS’ Forensic Science Programme.

Eugene Lee

Associate Professor Eugene Lee

Assoc Prof Lee is a senior prosecutor and holds an Adjunct Associate Professor appointment at the Faculty of Science.  He holds postgraduate qualifications in forensic science from the Henry C Lee Institute of Criminal Justice and Forensic Science at the University of New Haven, United States. He has been involved in forensic science education in NUS since 2009 and is a coordinator for NUS’ Forensic Science Programme at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Assoc Prof Lee started his career as a prosecutor in 1993 and has extensive experience in the conduct of serious cases such as murders, firearm offences, kidnapping and serious sexual crimes.

Dr Kim Jung Eun

Dr Kim earned her PhD in Nutritional Sciences at the University of Connecticut, United States (US). She further completed a dietetic internship at Yale-New Haven Hospital, US to become a registered dietitian.  She is a nutrition scientist with advanced training in dietetics and human clinical research. Her long-term research goal is to develop and validate dietary strategies and recommendations that effectively protect against age-associated chronic diseases and promote public health. She is currently an Assistant Professor at the Department of Food Science and Technology, Faculty of Science.

Dr Jonathon Teo

Dr Teo completed his BSc and PhD degrees at NUS. His research interests are in geometry and mathematical physics. He teaches introductory mathematics courses for Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering and Data Science minor students. He is a recipient of the Faculty Teaching Award (2021, 2022 and 2023) and the NUS Annual Teaching Excellence Award (2023). Dr Teo is currently a lecturer at the Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Science.

Dr Li Wei

Dr Li Wei lectures on courses ranging from calculus and discrete structures in pure mathematics to financial mathematics and game theory in applied mathematics. She was a recipient of the Faculty Teaching Award (2019, 2021 and 2022). She is currently a lecturer at the Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Science.

Assistant Professor Yvonne Gao

Asst Prof Gao is a Presidential Young Professor in the Department of Physics, Faculty of Science and a Principal Investigator at NUS’ Centre for Quantum Technologies. She leads the research effort on building innovative hardware building blocks for future quantum computers. Widely recognised as a leading young scientist in this field, her work has made broad and significant impact on pushing the frontiers of quantum technologies. Asst Prof Gao is also a passionate community-builder, spearheading several initiatives to inspire and empower the next generation of young scientists. Her contributions to advancing quantum computing technologies and bringing positive changes in the community have earned her many prestigious accolades, such as the Young Scientist Award, the Singapore National Research Foundation (NRF) Fellowship and MIT Tech Review’s Innovators Under 35 (Asia Pacific) award.

Vik Gopal

Dr Vik Gopal

Dr Gopal graduated from NUS’ Department of Mathematics and went on to complete his PhD in Statistics at the University of Florida, United States. He worked at the Centre for Strategic Infocomm Technologies and then IBM, before joining NUS in 2013. He has been teaching classes in statistics and data science to undergraduates and adult learners. He finds the invasion of statistics into sports wonderful but sincerely hopes that no manager turns to ChatGPT for advice on how to run his / her team. He is currently a senior lecturer at the Department of Statistics and Data Science, Faculty of Science.

Dr Huang Yuting

Dr Huang received her undergraduate education in Statistics at the University of Maryland, College Park, United States and her PhD in Economics from NUS. She teaches multidisciplinary courses in data science, data visualisation and economics. She is currently a lecturer at the Department of Statistics and Data Science, Faculty of Science.

Julian is a Year 3 Pharmacy student and the current President of NUSPS. He oversees mainly the External Cell which focuses on career guidance and opportunities, overseas relations and collaborations, as well as the cultivation of interpersonal skills for interdisciplinary teams through activities run by the Pharmacy Profession Awareness Committee (PPAC), Industrial Relations and Awareness Committee (IRAC), Inter-Professional Education (IPE) and International Relations Committee (IRC). Julian has a strong passion for clinical work. He is active in CCAs, including NUS’ Public Health Club, NUS’ Catholic Students Society and NUS’ Recreational Volleyball. He is also pursuing a Minor in Public Health.

Nandhini Renganathan

63rd Vice President (Special Projects), NUSPS

Nandhini is a Year 1 Pharmacy student and the current Vice President (Special Projects), NUSPS. She oversees Freshmen Orientation Projects (namely, the Pharmacy Orientation Programme (POP), RxAG, RxFLAG) and the Youth Expedition Project. As a mentor, she offers advice to students facing difficulties, provides welfare and mental support and ensures that her committees have good work-play balance. She is also a member of Tembusu Residential College and the Voices of Singapore Youth Choir.

Associate Professor Chui Wai Keung

Assoc Prof Chui is a pharmacist who received his BSc in Pharmacy (Hons) from NUS and PhD majoring in Medicinal Chemistry from Aston University in Birmingham, United Kingdom. He headed NUS’ Department of Pharmacy between 2013 and 2015. He is currently a member of the Singapore Pharmacy Council. He co-leads the design and implementation of the new competency-based BPharm (Hons) programme which integrates basic, clinical and systems sciences as its hallmark. He sits on working committees at the World Health Organization and the Western Pacific Pharmaceutical Forum.

Elaine Lo

Dr Elaine Lo

Dr Lo obtained her PharmD from the University of British Columbia, Canada.  She is a principal clinical pharmacist at National University Hospital and is concurrently an adjunct assistant professor at NUS. Her clinical interest includes pharmacogenomics, immunology and gastroenterology. Beyond patient care at the immunotherapeutics clinic and her secretariat roles at the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee, her focus is to facilitate the clinical implementation of pharmacogenomics within the National University Health System and across the nation.

Priscilla

Ms Priscilla Chua

Ms Chua is Director, Clinical Informatics Group, Synapxe and Deputy Director, HealthTech Policy Division, Ministry of Health (MOH). She drives the use of data standards such as the harmonisation of COVID vaccination codes in IT systems. During the pandemic, she facilitated the setup of 10 vaccination centres and supported the deployment of Vital Signs Monitoring equipment at Community Care Facilities. At MOH, she also supports the formulation of strategies and policies relating to the use of data. Before her work in Synapxe and MOH, Ms Chua championed the implementation of pharmacy and clinical systems in a public hospital.

Other than her pharmacy degree, she holds Master of Science (Health Informatics) and Master of Health in Administration qualifications.

Gallagher

Professor Paul John Gallagher

Prof Gallagher was previously the Head of Pharmacy of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) (2010 to 2018). In that role, he reformed pharmacy education through his Directorship of the National Pharmacy Internship Programme and the establishment of the Irish Institute of Pharmacy.  Before RCSI, he established a pharmacy and medical centre in Dublin.

He is a graduate of University College London, United Kingdom, and Trinity College Dublin, Ireland where he obtained his MBA and PhD, respectively. In 2016, Utrecht University, Netherlands and subsequently in 2019, the International Pharmaceutical Federation recognised him for his contributions to academic pharmacy practice.

Dr Yau Wai Ping

Dr Yau Wai Ping is the Director of the undergraduate Pharmaceutical Science Programme and an Assistant Head of the Department of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. In addition, she coordinates the Undergraduate Professional Internship Programme (UPIP) and Student Exchange Programme (SEP) which offer Pharmaceutical Science students experiential learning opportunities.

Miss Lim En Tong graduated with a BSc (Pharmaceutical Science) (Hons) degree from NUS and currently works at GSK as a Quality Assurance Executive under the Future Leaders Programme. Driven by a passion to contribute to the pharmaceutical domain, she acquired foundational research skills in her undergraduate learning journey and is now navigating the dynamic landscape of pharmaceutical manufacturing.

Mr Gidane Goh

Mr Gidane Goh graduated with a BSc (Pharmaceutical Science) (Hons) degree from NUS. During his undergraduate studies, he took up an internship as a Pharmaceutical Application Scientist Intern at Roquette. Following this, he continued at Roquette while completing his Final Year Project. Currently, he is working as a Technical Laboratory Specialist (Pharma) at Brenntag, where he develops innovative science-based solutions and applications for consumers using different suppliers’ ingredients.

Miss Jeannie Su

Miss Jeannie Su graduated with a BSc (Pharmaceutical Science) (Hons) degree from NUS. She is passionate about helping people and improving lives. Currently, she is working at Labcorp, a clinical research organisation, as a Regional Study Coordinator, where she works with medical institutions and pharmaceutical companies to manage clinical trials that evaluate the safety and efficacy of potential drugs.
