Faculty Tour by NUS Students’ Science Club

This guided tour is led by undergraduate students from our various science academic programmes. The tour brings you around key facilities at the Faculty of Science such as the new Medicine-Science Library, lecture theatres, Student Hub, Science Club and canteen.

Tours will run every half hourly, from 12pm to 2.30pm. Limited to 20 pax per tour.

FST Teaching Laboratories Suite

Visit our teaching laboratories suite to understand the fundamental and applied knowledge that will be covered in your studies. There will be a showcase of projects and product displays. You will also gain insights into chemical analysis, engineering, processing, fermentation, sensory and microbiology.

Life Sciences

Cryo-electron Microscopy Facility

This facility at the Centre for BioImaging Sciences develops and applies novel computational and microscopy-based methods and technologies to address key problems in biology, with a focus on biological imaging using light and electron microscopy.

Urban Farming Facility

This facility is equipped with 12 cultivation racks with light-emitting diode (LED) lighting and the PlantEye as well as automated three-dimensional (3D) laser scanner for monitoring plant growth. This enables researchers to identify plant varieties and growth conditions at a large scale for optimal performance for urban farming.

Centre of Quantum Technologies (CQT)

CQT is a Research Centre of Excellence where physicists, computer scientists and engineers work on understanding quantum physics and building devices based on quantum phenomena in cutting-edge laboratories.

Centre for Ion Beam Applications (CIBA)

CIBA is a multidisciplinary research centre developing new technologies based on fast protons and light ions. It also conducts research into novel cutting-edge ion-based applications.

Surface Science Laboratory (SSL)

SSL studies physical and chemical phenomena occurring at the interface of two phases. SSL facilities support projects like two-dimensional (2D) materials and interfaces, molecular self-assembly and on-surface synthesis of carbon networks on surfaces.
