Professor Sow Chorng Haur
Prof Sow Chorng Haur obtained his BSc and MSc in Physics from NUS and his PhD from the University of Chicago. He was a postdoctoral fellow at Bell Laboratories, Lucent Technologies before joining the Department of Physics, Faculty of Science in 2001. His research interests include carbon nanotubes and graphene, and studies of nanostructured functional materials and their unique physical properties. He has authored and co-authored many papers in the field of nanoscience and nanomaterials. He is a recipient of multiple university- and faculty-level teaching excellence awards. Prof Sow is Vice Dean (Outreach and Admissions) at the Faculty of Science.
Dr Noorman Abdullah
Dr Noorman Abdullah holds a joint appointment with the Departments of Sociology and Malay Studies. He obtained his PhD (summa cum laude) from the University of Bielefeld in Germany after completing both his masters and undergraduate degrees from the Department of Sociology here in NUS. His core research interests are religion and society, particularly in relation to spirit possession and everyday religiosity; deviance and social control; and sensory studies. Dr Noorman is Assistant Dean of External Relations and Student Life at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.

Associate Professor Zhang Yang
Assoc Prof Zhang Yang is Vice-Dean (Undergraduate Studies), NUS Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. She joined the Department of NUS Economics in 2012, and her teaching and research interests include Applied Microeconomics, Health Economics and Industrial Organisation. She is also a two-time FASS Faculty Teaching Excellence Award (2013 and 2014) and Annual Teaching Excellence Award: National University of Singapore (2013) winner, as well as the recipient of the Merv Shalowitz and KGSM Doctoral Fellowships – both from Northwestern University – and the An Tai Scholarship from Peking University.

Associate Professor Lim Tiong Wee
Assoc Prof Lim Tiong Wee received his undergraduate education in mathematics and graduate education in statistics at Imperial College London and Stanford University, respectively. He has research affiliations with the Faculty's Centre for Quantitative Finance and NUS’ Risk Management Institute. He is currently Deputy Head (Academic) at the Department of Statistics and Data Science, Faculty of Science.
Associate Professor Chen Ying
Assoc Prof Chen Ying is a financial statistician and data scientist. She develops statistical modelling and machine learning methods customised for nonstationary, high frequency and large dimensional complex data such as cryptocurrency, renewable energy etc. She also works on business intelligence, forecasting, text mining and sentiment analysis, and network analysis. She sits on the editorial committee of five journals and has been an Elected Member of the International Statistical Institute since 2016. She is an Associate Professor at the Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Science and holds joint appointments at NUS' Risk Management Institute and the Department of Statistics and Data Science, Faculty of Science.
Dr Denis Tkachenko
Dr Denis Tkachenko’s research focuses on theoretical econometrics and its applications in macroeconomics and finance, and was published in the top five and top field economic journals. At NUS, he teaches classes in econometrics, forecasting and machine learning. He is a Senior Lecturer at NUS’ Department of Economics, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.

Making a Difference through Environmental Studies
Associate Professor Peter Todd
Assoc Prof Peter Todd, a marine biologist, has been teaching ecology and marine science at NUS for 18 years. His interdisciplinary research synthesises elements of biology, geography and engineering to answer ecological and environmental questions. In particular, he studies tropical coastal organisms and communities and the effects urbanisation has on them. He is the Director of the Bachelor of Environmental Studies (BES) programme.
Dr Susan Owen
Dr Susan Owen is the Deputy Director of BES and an environmental policy researcher and educator who works with physical and social science research to better understand the limitations in environmental management practice. With a focus on climate adaptation policy in the context of environmental and human systems, she is interested in how we respond to the complex, and at times seemingly intractable, issues faced when developing policy to support sectoral adaptation to climate change. She is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Geography, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.

Associate Professor Luke O'Sullivan
Assoc Prof Luke O'Sullivan received his BA from Oxford, and his PhD in History from the Australian National University. He is a faculty member at the Political Science Department of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, and a Fellow at the University Scholars Programme. His research interests are in intellectual history, especially the history of philosophy and the history of political thought.
Dr Joel Chow
Dr Joel Chow is an Instructor in the University Scholars Programme (USP) at the National University of Singapore (NUS). He obtained his PhD in Philosophy from the University of Arizona and his BA/PhB in Philosophy from NUS-The Australian National University Joint Honours Degree Programme. He is also an alumnus of USP, graduating in the Class of 2011.

Associate Professor Jason Yeo Boon Siang
Assoc Prof Jason Yeo received his BSc (Hons) and MSc in Chemistry from NUS, and his PhD from ETH Zurich. He conducted postdoctoral research at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. His work focuses on developing efficient and robust materials to catalyse energy conversion reactions to achieve sustainable and environmentally friendly energy. Assoc Prof Yeo has received multiple faculty- and university-level teaching excellence awards. He is currently the Deputy Head (Education) at the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science.

Associate Professor Rajesh Rai
Assoc Prof Rajesh Rai is Head of the South Asian Studies Programme at National University of Singapore. His research interests are in the areas of: Diaspora Studies; South Asian Nationalisms; and the Postcolonial History and Politics of South Asia.
Dr Faizah Zakaria
Dr Faizah Zakaria holds a PhD in History from Yale University and an M.A in Southeast Asian Studies from the National University of Singapore. Her scholarship centers on religion and ecology in maritime Southeast Asia. Her book manuscript is currently under contract with University of Washington Press and she has published in journals such as Critical Asian Studies, Indonesia and the Malay World and Journal of Social History.
Associate Professor Tham Shiao Wei
Assoc Prof Tham Shiao Wei received her PhD from Stanford and specialises in lexical semantics and theoretical linguistics. She teaches the Chinese linguistics foundation module and modules on semantics.

Dr Clay Eaton is a faculty member at the Department of Japanese Studies of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, and has among his focus research and teaching areas the Japanese Occupation of Singapore, and the social and political effects of Japanese Imperial Policy in Southeast Asia.
Dr Mohamed Effendy Abdul Hamid
Dr Mohamed Effendy Abdul Hamid is Convenor of Undergraduate Studies and lecturer at the Department of Southeast Asian Studies, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. His focus areas of study include the scholarship of teaching and learning, pre-colonial Southeast Asian history, post-colonial and modern Southeast Asian history and martial arts studies.

CHS Life Sciences: One Major, Three Specialisations, Diverse Disciplines
Associate Professor Henry Mok Yu-Keung
Assoc Prof Henry Mok obtained his PhD from the University of Cambridge in 1996 on the study of folding and NMR (nuclear magnetic resonance) spectroscopy of the DNA binding domain of the human papillomavirus E2 protein. His expertise is in determining the structural/functional relationship of proteins involved in human diseases using both NMR and X-ray crystallography. His group has determined structures of allergens from dust mites and cockroaches that lead to understanding of diseases like asthma and atopic dermatitis. Assoc Prof Mok is Deputy Head (Undergraduate Matters) at the Department of Biological Sciences, Faculty of Science.

Dr Donna Brunero
Dr Brunero is a historian with more than a decade of experience teaching courses relating to the British empire, maritime history and Singapore history. As a winner of numerous teaching awards, she is known for her innovative in-class teaching and for involving students in public history related projects.
Associate Professor John Whalen-Bridge
Assoc Prof John Whalen-Bridge teaches courses on American literature, and pursues research into the transpacific cultural exchange between Asia and the US, with special focus on the transmission of certain elements of culture – such as martial arts, religion and philosophy – from Asia to the US.
Associate Professor Graham Wolfe
Assoc Prof Graham Wolfe teaches the classes "The Theatre Experience", "Major Playwrights of the 20th Century", and "Theatre Ecologies", and is Deputy Head and Theatre Studies (Research) Graduate Coordinator of the Department of English, Linguistics and Theatre Studies.
Dr Leslie Lee
Dr Leslie Lee first joined NUS as an undergraduate determined to major in Economics, but instead found his passion in linguistics and never looked back. After completing his Ph.D. at the University of California, San Diego, he re-joined NUS in 2014, this time as a faculty member. He teaches a broad range of modules that adopt both qualitative and quantitative approaches in the English Language and Linguistics programme.
Dr Zachary Barnett
Dr Zachary Barnett received his PhD in philosophy from Brown University in 2018, and joined NUS about three years ago. He studies various topics in contemporary philosophy, including ethics and decision theory.

Associate Professor Feng Qiushi
Assoc Prof Feng Qiushi is Deputy Head of the Department of Sociology and Anthropology, Deputy Director of the NUS Centre for Family and Population Research (CFPR), and Assistant Dean of Research of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. He has been teaching social research methods and social statistics at undergrad and grad levels for more than two decades, and research fields are ageing and health, population studies and economic sociology.

Assoc Prof Woon Chih Yuan has been teaching at NUS Geography for more than a decade. He currently teaches the courses, Politics and Space, Political Geographies: Space and Power, Political Geography, and Changing Landscapes of Singapore; and his research interests are in the study of Geographies of Peace and Nonviolence, Geographies of Terrorism, Critical Geopolitics, and Social Movements and NGOs.

Foreign Language Studies: Passport to the World
Ms Sasiwimol Klayklueng
Ms Sasiwimol Klayklueng is a senior lecturer of Thai as a foreign language at the Centre for Language Studies (CLS). Currently, she is an Assistant Director of the CLS. Joining NUS in 2000, she was the Convenor of the Thai Programme from 2010-2022, supervising, coordinating, and teaching the Thai language modules at all levels, ranging from beginner, and intermediate to advanced proficiency levels. Further, she serves as the Consultant and Coordinator for Thai External Courses, under the CLS External Language Programme, offering a wide range of Thai courses, Thai 1-Thai 9, Thai for business purposes, and customized courses. She has won the NUS ATEA and has currently been on the University Honour Roll (2023-2027). She is completing her doctorate study in language education, at the University of Western Australia. Her research interest focuses on intercultural education, curriculum development, teaching materials development, and technology-enhanced language learning.
Dr Sandhya Singh
Dr Sandhya Singh is the convenor of Hindi and Tamil language and senior lecturer at the Centre for Language Studies, National University of Singapore (NUS). She received her Ph.D. from Banaras Hindu University (BHU), India, and has been teaching Hindi for over 20 years. Her research interest lies in Hindi and Bhojpuri in SEA. She joined NUS in 2009 as a part-time and 2015 as a full-time lecturer with the Centre for Language Studies Programme. Prior to joining NUS, she established and taught Hindi language program at the Nanyang Technological University of Singapore (NTU).
Ms Indrianti Tjan
Ms Indrianti Tjan is the convenor of the Indonesian language and a senior lecturer at the Centre for Language Studies, National University of Singapore. She received her Master of Education in TESOL from the School of Education, Boston University. She joined NUS in 2007. Prior to joining NUS, she taught English at various universities in Indonesia. In 2004, she received a Fulbright Grant to teach Bahasa Indonesia as a foreign language at the University of Hawai'i, Manoa. Indrianti’ s research interests are in the area of applied linguistics including Second Language Acquisition, Sociolinguistics, and Intercultural Studies.

Ms Rungnapa Kitiarsa
Ms Rungnapa Kitiarsa is a lecturer of the Thai language at the Centre for Language Studies (CLS), National University of Singapore (NUS). She holds two professional master’s degrees: (1) M.A. in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL), from the University of Washington, Seattle, U.S.A., and (2) M.Sc. in Social Development, Ateneo de Manila University, the Philippines. Prior to joining the Thai Language Program at NUS in 2005 as a part-time and a full-time in 2013, she was a lecturer at the School of English, Suranaree University of Technology (SUT), Thailand. She also had teaching experience in Teaching Thai as a Foreign Language at the Department of Asian Languages and Literature, University of Washington.

Ms Sophie Undorf-Bouvier is a lecturer of French language at Centre for Language Studies (CLS), National University of Singapore (NUS). She holds two professional master degrees: (1) Master’s degree in Political sciences. Specialisation in “Political sociology and European studies” (ULB-Belgium). (2) Master’s degree in Teaching French as a Second Language. Specialisation in “Engineering Teacher Professional Development” (CLA-France). Prior to joining the French Language Program at NUS in 2021 as a part-time and a full-time in 2022, she was the director of a language center in Singapore. She is also the President of the Association of French Teachers in Singapore (APFS) since 2018.

Associate Professor Victor Tan
Assoc Prof Victor Tan received his BSc from NUS and PhD from the University of California. His research interests are in algebra and number theory. He is also a Fellow of the NUS Teaching Academy. As President of the Singapore Mathematical Society, he has organised a wide range of mathematics enrichment programmes for school teachers and students. He has received multiple faculty- and university-level awards for teaching excellence, including the Outstanding Educator Award, the highest recognition for educators at NUS. Assoc Prof Tan is currently Deputy Head (Teaching) at the Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Science.

Dr Adelyn Lim is a senior lecturer in the Department of Sociology & Anthropology as well as a research associate in the Centre for Family and Population Research. Her research and teaching interests include gender, sexuality, reproductive health, social movements, and intersectional and transnational feminisms.

Dr Nina Powell has a Ph.D. in the psychology of human behaviour and decision-making (Social and Cognitive Developmental Psychology). She has more than 10 years of experience in grant and research publication writing and reviewing, and consultation for best approaches to assessing and measuring human behaviour and decision-making with respect to cognition, emotion, and behaviour modification.
Dr Alex Mitchell
Dr Alex Mitchell teaches interactive media design in the Department of Communications and New Media at the National University of Singapore. His current research investigates various aspects of computer-based art and entertainment, focusing in particular on interactive stories. Dr Mitchell has a B.Sc. and an M.Sc. in Computer Science from the University of Toronto, and recently completed his PhD at the NUS Graduate School for Integrative Sciences and Engineering.

Associate Professor Tan Hwee Huat
Assoc Prof Tan Hwee Huat received his BSc (Hons) and PhD from the University of Adelaide. His research interests are in numerical optimisation and financial modelling. Dr Liu Mei Hui
Dr Liu Mei Hui graduated from the pioneering batch of NUS’ Food Science and Technology Programme. She received numerous food industry awards as a student. Following her first degree, Dr Liu was awarded the prestigious Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) Graduate Scholarship to pursue a PhD in Molecular Biology. Her research work at the Genome Institute of Singapore, A*STAR and Cornell University brought her on many scientific journeys in the fields of molecular biology, nutrition and genomics. Her multidisciplinary research has been recognised in prestigious journals including Nature. Dr Liu is Assistant Dean at NUS’ Faculty of Science, where she oversees student counselling and manages student groups and societies.

Associate Professor Ho Han Kiat
Assoc Prof Ho received his Bachelor of Science (Pharmacy) with First Class Honours, along with the Lee Kuan Yew Gold Medal and Chalmers Medal as the top graduate. Following which, he became one of the pioneer recipients of the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) Overseas Graduate Scholarship and obtained his PhD in Medicinal Chemistry from the University of Washington. Assoc Prof Ho has published more than 95 papers in internationally recognised journals and has won multiple university-level teaching excellence awards, including the Outstanding Educator Award in 2020. Assoc Prof Ho is the Dean of Students at NUS and an academic staff at the Department of Pharmacy, Faculty of Science.

Professor Eric Chan
Prof Eric Chan is a pharmaceutical scientist in the Department of Pharmacy, National University of Singapore (NUS). His research interests are: metabolism-driven systems biology modelling of diseases and mammalian host-bacteria interactions; and xenobiotic-derived reactive metabolite research with specific focus on interaction with biological proteins and physiological-based pharmacokinetics-pharmacodynamics modelling of pharmacology and toxicology. He was a Dean’s Chair Professor (2015 to 2018) and recipient of the Faculty’s Young Scientist Award (2010) and Outstanding Scientist Award (2014). He was also a six-time recipient of the Faculty’s Teaching Excellence Award and a four-time recipient of the NUS Annual Teaching Excellence Award.

Assoc Prof Liou Yih-Cherng received his PhD from Queen’s University, Canada. After a postdoctoral stint at Harvard Medical School, he joined the Department of Biological Sciences, Faculty of Science in 2003. He is Director of the Faculty’s Special Programme in Science and concurrently, the department’s Deputy Head (Graduate Studies and Research).

Professor Lorenz Goette
Professor Lorenz Goette is Provost's Chair and a Professor of Economics at the National University of Singapore and the University of Bonn. He is also Acting Head of the NUS Department of Economics. His previous appointments include Professor of Economics at Université de Lausanne, and Senior Economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston. His primary teaching area is behavioural economics, and his research focuses on behavioural, experimental and environmental economics, as well as applied microeconometrics.

Dr Priya Maholay-Jaradi is Convenor of the Art History Minor. She is an art historian of nineteenth century South Asia with a particular focus on art and nationalisms in princely India and post-colonial museum diplomacies.
Dr Darinee Alagirisamy
Dr Darinee Alagirisamy is a lecturer in the South Asian Studies Programme at the National University of Singapore. She is a historian of social reform movements, their circulation, and impact in South and Southeast Asia. Her teaching and research interests straddle colonialism, nationalism and social change.
Associate Professor Mie Hiramoto
Assoc Prof Mie Hiramoto from the Department of English Language and Literature at NUS, earned her PhD in linguistics from the University of Hawaii (2006). Her research interests are sociolinguistics and linguistic anthropology, in particular, contact linguistics (e.g., Japanese spoken outside Japan and Singapore English) as well as language, gender, and sexuality (e.g., mediation and medialization; Asian masculinity). Some of her recent research papers appeared in World Englishes (2019), Language in Society (2019), Social Semiotics (2020), Language and Communication (2020), and Journal of Pidgin and Creole Languages (2020).
Dr Lin Hongxuan
Dr Lin Hongxuan is a Senior Tutor with the NUS Department of Southeast Asian Studies, and concurrently a postdoctoral fellow at the Asia Research Institute. His research interests lie in the intersection between Islam and Marxism in Indonesia. More broadly, he is also interested in the articulation of progressive Islamic ideas across the Muslim world.

Dr Tania Roy
Dr Tania Roy is a senior lecturer at the NUS Department of English, Linguistics and Theatre Studies. Her scholarly interests are at the intersection of postcolonial studies and critical theory (especially the aesthetics of the Frankfurt School); ecological aesthetics, and world literature, and her current research and pedagogical projects examine the lineaments of discursivity in contemporary artistic directions in South Asia.
Associate Professor Chris McMorran
Assoc Prof Chris McMorran has been teaching in the NUS Department of Japanese Studies since 2010. He is a multiple award-winning educator who teaches a variety of modules, with enrolments ranging from 2 to 460. Dr Chitra Venkataramani
Dr Chitra Venkataramani is an anthropologist and is broadly interested in ecology, science and technology studies and visual studies. She holds a PhD from the Department of Anthropology at Johns Hopkins University and, prior to joining NUS, was a postdoctoral scholar at the Mittal South Asia Institute at Harvard. She has a background in design and experiments with graphic narratives in her anthropological research. Her research interests include: ecology, science and technology studies; visual studies; comics; science fiction; and, design.
Dr Muhammad Nawaz
Dr Muhammad Nawaz is a Geomorphologist with expertise in GIS, DSS, Environment and Sustainability with more than 25 years of research experience in a broad range of issues relating to catchment management and sustainable development. He has conducted multi-disciplinary research in several catchments including Darwin Harbour & Daly River catchment, Australia, Mangla Reservoir catchment, Pakistan and Saddang Watershed, Tana Toraja, South Sulawesi, Indonesia.

Dr Ong Ee Cheng
Dr Ong Ee Cheng is a senior lecturer at the NUS Department of Economics and Academic Convenor of the NUS Global Studies Programme. Her teaching areas include: the economics of inequality; labour economics; economic analysis; and, applied microeconomics.
Dr Abelard Podgorski
Dr Abelard Podgorski is a recent winner of the FASS Award for Promising Researcher and an NUS Presidential Young Professor. His primary research interests are in rationality, normative and applied ethics, metaethics, and epistemology. His major recent projects concern the role of idealization in normative theory, the development of a process-oriented model of rationality, how to manage uncertainty about normative facts, and puzzles arising from cases where how we should evaluate our choices seems to depend on which decision we end up making.
Dr Siddharth Eapen George
Dr Siddharth Eapen George is an NUS Presidential Young Professor and an Assistant Professor in the NUS Department of Economics. His teaching and research interests lie in development economics, and his other areas of research interest include the political economy and labour economics.
Associate Professor Noor Aisha binte Abdul Rahman
Assoc Prof Noor Aisha binte Abdul Rahman is a graduate of the NUS Faculty of Law. She obtained her MA and PhD at the NUS Department of Malay Studies. Her research and teaching interests include Malay customary law, the administration of Islamic law in Southeast Asia, sociology of religion ( Islam and religious life of the Malays), Malay elites and development in Southeast Asia.

Assoc Prof Liang Peilin is a researcher, educator, facilitator and translator of theatre and performance, with immense interest in storytelling through shapeshifting. Her research interests include (post)colonialism, minor transnationalism, cultural diversity and dynamics of cross-cultural exchange in relation to the performing body.

Dr Shobha Avadhani is a lecturer at the NUS Department of Communications and New Media, where she teaches public speaking and various aspects of media studies. Her research interest areas include: political communication; the politics of technology and education; and, media literacy and citizenship.
Dr Bei Hu
Dr Bei Hu is Assistant Professor In Translation and Interpreting in the NUS Department of Chinese Studies. Her research interests lie in high-stakes intercultural communication and the reception of translation.
Associate Professor Piero Stanig
Assoc Prof Piero Stanig is visiting from Bocconi University in Milan, Italy, where he teaches Political Science. He received his PhD in Political Science from Columbia University in 2009 and has held positions at the London School of Economics and the Hertie School of Governance in Berlin. His current research focuses on two topics: the political consequences of structural economic change; and the effects of extreme weather events on environmental concern and on voting behaviour.
Dr Taberez Ahmed Neyazi
Dr Taberez Ahmed Neyazi joined the NUS Department of Communications and New Media as Assistant Professor of New Media and Political Communication in July 2017. He is also a Principal Investigator at the NUS Centre for Trusted Internet and Community. He came to the position with considerable international experience living and working in diverse cultural settings in Asia, Europe and America. Taberez uses both qualitative and quantitative approaches in his research that ranges from newsroom observation studies, media content and sentiment analysis, to survey and public opinion research.

Dr Daniel Chan
Dr Daniel Chan is Deputy Director at the Centre for Language Studies where he is a Senior Lecturer of French, and concurrently Assistant Dean (Undergraduate Studies) for the Office of Programmes at FASS. Before joining the NUS, he taught and coordinated the MOE Language Elective Programme for H2 level French at the Ministry of Education Language Centre.
Dr Wang Haoshu
Dr Wang Haoshu is a lecturer of the Chinese language at the Centre for Language Studies, National University of Singapore (NUS). He received his Ph.D. in Chinese linguistics and bilingual development from Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, and has been teaching Chinese as a foreign language for over 10 years in China and Singapore. His research interest lies in App-aided learning of Chinese characters.
Dr Jan Auracher
Dr Jan Auracher studied Foreign Language Education at the University of Munich. In 2007, he graduated with a dissertation on psycho-physiological responses in reading. Jan taught German at universities in Japan, Korea, and Canada before joining the Centre for Language Studies at NUS as a Senior Lecturer.

Associate Professor Feng Qiushi
Assoc Prof Feng Qiushi is Deputy Head of the Department of Sociology and Anthropology, Deputy Director of the NUS Centre for Family and Population Research (CFPR), and Assistant Dean of Research of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. He has been teaching social research methods and social statistics at undergrad and grad levels for more than two decades, and research fields are ageing and health, population studies and economic sociology.

Dr Lee Jungup is an Assistant Professor in the NUS Department of Social Work. Her research seeks to refine the understanding of how adverse childhood events relate to subsequent behavioural and health outcomes for children and adolescents and her research interests include bullying, victimisation and perpetration, at-risk children and youth, school violence and safety, child maltreatment, juvenile justice and criminal justice, mental health and substance abuse, and cultural diversity.
Dr Matthew Lim Sheng Mian
Dr Matthew Lim Sheng Mian is a senior lecturer and Graduate Clinical Curriculum Coordinator at the NUS Department of Psychology. He teaches and supervises on the Masters in clinical psychology programme, and his research programme aims to develop effective interventions that target specific and generic vulnerabilities for psychopathology.

Dr Yeo Ye
Dr Yeo was from the Class of 1992, Faculty of Science. After completing his PhD at the University of Cambridge under a scholarship from the Cambridge-MIT Alliance and joining the Department of Physics, Faculty of Science in 2004, he has been actively involved in promoting physics education in Singapore. For example, he was the Chairman of the Singapore Young Physicists’ Tournament from its inaugural run in 2009 to 2017, when Singapore hosted the 30th International Young Physicists’ Tournament. Together with his colleagues, he started ‘Illustratum’, a novel physics hallway competition for secondary school students. Dr Yeo is currently a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Physics and an Assistant Dean (Undergraduate Studies & Student Life) at the Faculty.

Associate Professor Ee Pui Lai, Rachel
Assoc Prof Rachel Ee received her BSc (Hons) in Pharmacy from NUS and PhD in Pharmaceutics from the University of Illinois. Her research is focused on the design and development of peptide antimicrobial therapeutics and hydrogels. She has published widely in internationally recognised journals, and received numerous national grants and international awards for her research and administrative excellence. These accolades include the Asian Scholar Award, DAAD Fellowship and UCLA-Banco Santander Women Leadership Award. She wears multiple hats as the Director of the Pharmaceutical Science Programme and Deputy Head (Research) at the Department of Pharmacy and the Chair of the University Mid-Term Advisory Review Committee (STEM). She is also an Editorial Board member of the Chemical Engineering Research and Design Journal by Elsevier.
